What is True Kanji

True Kanji is an application aimed to help you learn Japanese vocabulary through interaction and repetition. It uses a model similar to the one used by realkanji.com but aimed for a granular vocabulary building.
This application is useful for those who are beginning to learn Japanese and those who want to brush off their knowledge.

How to use it

It is recommended to start small and build up as you learn. Select the first 5 kanji you want to learn from any category and press the Start button. If you don't know the answer to progress, press the book button to see the dictionary entry for that kanji. Note that once you look at the answer, you won't get 'confidence' points after typing the right answer. 

Get yourself familiar with these 5 kanji and when you start feeling confident, select more and/or deselect the ones you are too confident on.

If you are not yet familiar with Hiragana and Katakana, start by memorizing those before moving to the JLPTs.

How often should I use the app

As often as you have some spare time, but at least once a day. The more you use the app, the more you will feel confident with the words you already memorized. Not to mention that building a habit is important when learning new languages. Reserving time daily for studying will more likely lead to better results.

Important notes
